Well, like Dave Phelps said, some phones will and some won't.  His did, his wife's did not.  My wife's did not and mine was turned off.  Her cellphone reception is spotty here at the house and mine is zero (hence always off unless out and about) and it might be as simple as that.  We were home at the time.

But it is great to see the nearly universal success of the system.  This round of emails has been very useful.  I presume (or hope) that FEMA has others means of surveying how well the alert worked nationwide.

Thanks to everyone.

Hi Folks,

I just wanted to let everyone know that we've updated a little information on the DMR repeater posting on our website.  You can see that post here --> https://www.k0si.net/2018/07/dmr-repeater/

Hopefully, it will answer all your questions but if not, please feel free to post here in the group so we can get you some help.

Also, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the following group of folks who were very helpful in getting all this accomplished (listed in no particular order):
Chris - K0PHP
Jake - NS0Y
Ernest - KC0EZE
Gary - W9TIG

These are the guys who all pitched in to get the CMR repeater on the air and connected to the internet.

Also, we would also like to express a special Thank You to iZones, LLC for donating the internet connection used for our DMR repeater!

Group,

I am still in AR for a couple weeks, but need to start planning for our SET this year.

This SET will be held November 3, 9:00 - 12:00.

I want to begin by asking all who are able and willing to reply to this email to let me know that you can participate this year. The exercise will be similar to the last two, in that we will be deployed to sites that Boone County OEM has picked across the county.

We will be exercising our 146.610 repeater for this test and accessing it's county-wide coverage. Some ICS 213 forms will be used and I hope we can use Winlink to deliver these by radio. We plan to activate two hospitals this year too.

We had 22 Hams participating last year, and I hope we can get at least that many this year. If you just got your Tech license this exercise is for you, since we only use 2M/440 frequencies. (We also get extra points for newly licensed hams). HTs are of limited value in this exercise, but if that is all you have, we can work that out.

I hope to hear from you soon, as I am trying to organize this remotely.
