Jim. Sometimes when fonts are changed the computer will insert funny charitors. Like itbis a scan from a news report then moves to a Mac then to HTML (web) things can get messed up at 4 mhz. :)

I just got this, this morning:

On Sunday night, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an
emergency use authorization for hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine,
drugs often used to treat malaria and recently touted by President
Donald Trump as a possible “game-changerâ€ in the fight
against the China-originated novel coronavirus, or COVID-19.
The United States Department of Health & Human Services (HHS)
announced in a statement on Sunday that the FDA will allow the drugs
to be “donated to the Strategic National Stockpile to be
distributed and prescribed by doctors to hospitalized teen and adult
patients with COVID-19, as appropriate, when a clinical trial is not
available or feasible, a Politico report said.

The statement noted that “Sandoz donated 30 million doses of
hydroxychloroquine to the stockpile and Bayer donated 1 million doses
of chloroquine.

Trump made it clear weeks ago that his administration would work to
fast-track promising drugs like hydroxychloroquine with the FDA, all
in an effort to combat COVID-19.

Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is on the same page as
President Trump when it comes to the popular anti-malaria drugs,
permitting trials of hydroxychloroquine, chloroquine, and
azithromycin to commence in his state.

“Let’s see how it works,â€ Trump said Sunday, with regard
to the New York trials. “It may. It may not.â€

On the same day as the FDA authorization, Novartis Chief Executive
Vas Narasimhan told a Swiss newspaper that hydroxychloroquine is our
“Pre-clinical studies in animals as well as the first data from
clinical studies show that hydroxychloroquine kills the
coronavirus,

Narasimhan told Sonntags Zeitung. “We’re working with Swiss
hospitals on possible treatment protocols for the clinical use of the
drug, but it’s too early to say anything definitively.â€

The French government also cleared a larger pathway for the use of
chloroquine this weekend, officially sanctioning the drug for certain
patients infected with the novel virus, The Daily Wire noted biggest
hope in combating COVID-19.

“The French government has officially sanctioned prescriptions of
chloroquine to treat certain coronavirus patients, France
24 English reported Saturday.
“This ensures continued treatment of patients who have been treated
for several years for a chronic condition with this drug, but also
allows a temporary authorization to allow certain patients with
coronavirus to benefit from this therapeutic route,
France’s director general of health Jérôme Salomon said.

The move from the French government comes on the heels of infectious
disease specialist Didier Raoult announcing new clinical results,
which can be accessed here, that show 78 out of 80 patients treated
with chloroquine recovered within five days, a report from Trustnodes
said.
The five-day recovery time is “considerablyâ€ faster
“than the usual 14 days and for some it can go up to 28 days if
they recover at all, Trustnodes added.

Medical Hope is coming -

For the past couple of weeks, I have been watching efforts to find a
medical solution to the Wuhan Virus. First
on Youtube, then on the news, then it popped up during the Vice
President's daily update, three days ago.

The French started a human trial, more than two weeks ago, and are
reporting very positive results. The study
is entitled, "Hydroxychloroquine and Azithromycin (Z-pak) as a
treatment of Covid-19: results of an open label
non-randomized clinical trial." The combination of both drugs
produces 100 percent cure in five days compared
to a control group that was still testing positive over the same time
period. But the fantastic news is that both
drugs are already FDA approved, and President Trump is already having
the FDA evaluate this for Wuhan
Virus application. This came up during his press conference, a
couple of days ago.

Ten thousand units of this drug have already been sent to New York
city, and they begin using it today. We should
start hearing results in about one week.

Hydroxychloroquine has already been used in New Orleans to benefit
critical cases, and last night Laura
Ingraham interviewed a doctor that has applied the above mentioned
drugs to 350 patients.

Hydroxychloroquine is an anti-malarial drug, developed after WW-II,
and it and Azithromycin are cheap,
off patent drugs, whose efficacy and side effects are well know

So, "keep the faith." Good news is coming soon, and we are going to
beat this pandemic.

Donald Trump as a possible “game-changerâ€ in the fight

distributed and prescribed by doctors to hospitalized teen and adult
patients with COVID-19, as appropriate, when a clinical trial is not
available or feasible, a Politico report said.

The French government also cleared a larger pathway for the use of
chloroquine this weekend, officially sanctioning the drug for certain
patients infected with the novel virus, The Daily Wire noted biggest

“The French government has officially sanctioned prescriptions of
chloroquine to treat certain coronavirus patients, France

France’s director general of health Jérôme Salomon said.

The move from the French government comes on the heels of infectious
disease specialist Didier Raoult announcing new clinical results,
which can be accessed here, that show 78 out of 80 patients treated
with chloroquine recovered within five days, a report from Trustnodes
said.
The five-day recovery time is “considerablyâ€ faster

they recover at all, Trustnodes added.

No offense taken. I simply misunderstood your use of the gloves. I have just seen too many reports of folks who are taking ancillary measures rather than the primary recommendations which have been coming out from the CDC for weeks.

Yes, wear the gloves, and the masks, when out in public. But think about what is happening. And as you move from location to location, change out the gloves. This is what health care workers have done for years, moving from patient to patient. I have had people give me dirty looks and gestures because I pull my mask down while driving in my vehicle, even though I make sure it's covering my mouth and nose when I exit my vehicle.

Important point: while over 600 sailors on the Roosevelt tested positive, roughly 60 percent of those testing positive did NOT show any symptoms. This is why wearing a mask protects others.

Fred,

I believe that that number is similar to what they have seen in Iceland, where they have a relatively high level of testing in the country's small population.
This is why I wear a mask on the very rare occasions when I go out. What if I have it and don't know?
