Food: The Barnhouse Grill will be open for Breakfast at 6:00 a.m. AND
lunch during the event and it has a sit down area for those attending to
sit and visit, eat, and/or drink coffee!
Several of you are already booked at the AmercInn by Wyndham in Republic -
but for those of you driving a long distance that would prefer to stay the
night near the hamfest, here is a link to their website:
https://www.wyndhamhotels.com/americinn/republic-missouri/americinn-lodge-and-suites-republic/overview
We personally went and looked at the hotel about a month ago and the room
we saw and the foyer were all clean and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there
myself. The hotel is about a 5-10 minute drive from the hamfest venue on
US Hwy 60. I believe they are also serving a regular breakfast at this
location as well per our conversation with them at that time.
There are several places you can grab breakfast, however, that you may want
to try out:
The Barnhouse Grill (Located at the hamfest venue - they will open at 6:00
a.m.
Dunkin Doughnuts
S&L Doughnuts (VERY good and they have breakfast sandwiches as well)
McDonalds
Wendy's
Village Inn
Jeanie's Restaurant (I've not eaten here but I've heard it's a good place
to eat as well)
Classic Rock Coffee
Black Lab Coffee (Also VERY good!)
Kum & Go - has doughnuts & breakfast pizza
Casey's - Doughnuts & breakfast pizza
If you are looking for supper choices Friday or lunch after the hamfest on
Saturday, some of the local favorites are - (all of these are EXCELLENT
choices)
Heady BBQ
Big Whiskeys
Flat Creek
Arris Pizza
Looking for desert?
Andy's Frozen Custard
Baskin Robins
Dairy Queen
ALL restaurants in Republic are open for dine in EXCEPT the Dairy Queen (no
clue why - they were only mediocre at best to begin with)
Several of you are travelling from other states and larger metropolitan
areas. There are no mask mandates / requirements anywhere in this area
unless you go to one of the hospitals or Silver Dollar City (and we sure
hope you don't have to!). If you feel the need to wear one, please feel
free to do so. It's been so long since we've had any mandates here I can't
remember when they went away so I wanted to give you a heads up so you know
what to expect.
We have sold all 39 tables! If you haven't seen a flyer yet, here is a
link: https://smlrs.info/hamfest-flyer/
Interest has been good for the hamfest and we are hoping for a great
turnout. Talk-in will be held on ANY SMLRS repeater - locally it is the
147.015+ PL 162.2 Hz or the 147.225+ PL 162.2 Hz - both in Springfield. On
site, we will have the Nixa ARC Club communications trailer set up with the
portable repeater linked to the SMLRS - if you want to listen to the
talk-in during the hamfest or for other announcements about the hamfest,
you can program the trailer repeater into your HT:
146.595 output with a negative offset - 145.995 input, PL 71.9 Hz on both
encode and decode.
Brad, KA0KDW, will be the net control & talk-in for the event - thanks Brad!
If you are looking for other attractions to visit after the hamfest on
Saturday, the original Bass Pro Shop is just 10-15 minutes EAST of the
hamfest on Sunshine St - besides the store, they also have the following
neat attractions:

venue)
https://www.nps.gov/wicr/index.htm
