I just bought one last week. So, I am NOT an expert in this, but I did find the learning curve to be a little steep, even for Analog frequencies. Be sure to go through their courses online (I am about half way done). You will need the software on a PC to program the radio, and once you get the feel for a "CodePlug", you are also there. I haven't done much DMR yet, but I have done a bunch of analog QSOs (simple and repeater) and it seems to work fine, AFTER you figure out how to program it. Spend a few hours running through there courses to understand the CodePlug concepts. All the information is there, but there is so much I had gone back and rewatched several videos. One tip. Once I got some of the basics down about the codeplug, I started plugging all my freqs in there. Got things all messed up. Start with a couple of analog repeaters and a couple of analog simplex freqs. Load them in the channels then create two zones, "Analog Repeaters", and "Analog SImplex" and learn how to setup up and configure each zone. Download to the radio and try it out. I played with it a couple of times and things started to be more understandable. Then start adding more. Remember, you can always start over with a blank CodePlug. But be sure to save each of them separately. At least this has worked for me so far. Still got a lot to learn. 73s, Bob, N6VZO On Fri, 2022-01-14 at 17:09 -0800, silveyd@... wrote:
